An American band and based in California, TALON was born from the ashes of VOXEN – a band that achieved international success with their release “Sacrifice”, which included a track that was used in the major motion picture “Outbreak” starring Dustin Hoffman.

Soon after, a new vision was brought forward with the recruitment of Michael O’Mara (Joshua Perahia, EFX) and demos were soon recorded some songs which culminated in the release of their self-titled debut. Upon release, the CD was wildly praised and was on countless top-10 lists for the year. Soon followed major live shows, including The Gods Festival in the U.K. Talon also had the privilege of being Stan Bush’s backing band at The Gods Festival and the subsequent DVD release. After a break of working on individual projects, Talon recorded new demos and ultimately recorded their next release “Fallen Angels”. With a closer vibe to an AOR feel, New York native Chandler Mogel was brought on board.

Chandler Mogel went on to front the Greece outfit Outloud and Talon then used the vocal talents of Shawn Pelata (Line of Fire) and keyboardsman Eric Ragno (China Blue, Takara, etc.). This was simply entitled “III” and was released on Escape Music. It proved to be a great album which strengthened the bands reputation and the addition of Jeff Scott Soto on guest vocals helped them gain a strong following.

This brings us to 2015 and the band have gone back to their roots and Michael O’Mara is back behind the mike stand. This is great news, and to add to the excitement they had the great pleasure to have contributions from some amazing friends and guitarists involved in the release. First off, top session guitarist extraordinaire Tim Pierce (Bonjovi, Ozzy, Santana, Elton John, etc.) provides Lead Guitar on 2 tracks and Pete Fry (FarCry, Rockarma) provides Lead Guitar on another track!

With amazing tracks such as the emotional “Tonight”, the in-your-face “Evil”, the dirty groove of “Holly Would”, and the energetic fun of “Spun” – and many other outstanding tracks, this release is bound to show up on a lot of 10 Bests Lists for 2015!   Its just going to be like the good old days!

Talon recently played at MelodicRockFest4, previewing several of the new tracks and now with several shows being set up for 2015 to promote the upcoming release, look for Talon to play near you in 2015!!!!
